Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to bridge the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in Aerospace and Defence (ASD) sector.
This 16-hour (2-days) course is a highly participative course that provides detailed discussion on a wide variety of Aerospace and Defence (ASD) topics as required by the industry and International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG).
Practical sessions and interactive learning methods are used to develop an understanding of the material.
A one-hour examination is conducted on the last day.
The topics in this course focuses on the industry specifics for design, development, manufacture and assembly activities
INSTRUCTORS
Mani Padagalingam – Is the Director of LeadLean Consulting. Ex Chief Manager Design (HAL) and Ex Director–Engineering, Quality & ACE (UTCAerospace Systems) with 34+ years of Experience in Aerospace and Defence industry and expertise in Engineering design, Technical and People leadership, Operational excellence, Quality systems, Lean methods for manufacturing & engineering, Problem solving techniques and innovation management.
T.Karthi – Lead Auditor for various management systems including AS 9100 Rev D (from IAQG). Consultant for NADCAP on multiple commodities like Welding, Electronics, Fluid Distribution System, NDT, Heat Treatment, Chemical Processing etc. Consulted and trained 35 + compaines for AS 9100 Rev D, including MoD PSUs like BDL and MIDHANI, DRDO Lab (DARE) and various SME across india. Practicing AS 9100 series of standards for past 12 Years.

- Introduction of ASD industry quality perspective
- Introduction of ASD regulatory authority roles, responsibilities and regulations, including how to obtain additional information
- Introduction of IAQG Standards
- Introduction of airworthiness and aviation safety requirements, including how to obtain additional information
- Discussion of the design, development, verification and validation processes specific to the aerospace industry
- Discussion of aerospace material traceability requirements
- Identification of aerospace supplier approval and control requirements
- Description of flow down of quality requirements
- Discussion of the use of customer supplied products
- Explanation of calibration controls and positive recall system
- Discussion of acceptance authority media (i.e. use of stamps, stamp control, electronic sign off)
- Discussion of nonconforming material, system requirements and operation
- Discussion of special process requirements and NADCAP Accreditation
- Explanation of configuration management/requirements control
- Explanation of foreign object debris / damage (FOD) requirements
- Explanation of prevention of counterfiet part requirements
- Discussion of product safety requirements, operational risks (FMEA etc)
- Explanation of Process Approach, Risk Based Thinking and continual improvement
